Live Workshop: From Resistance to Aligned Action
Stop losing the moment before you start.
You know what matters.
But when the moment comes to act…
you hesitate, delay, distract yourself, or disconnect.
This workshop is designed to help you access clarity —
and act from it —
in the exact moments you usually get stuck.
Live Online Workshop
7:30 PM (Pacific Time), June 14 | 75 minutes
This workshop is for you if:
You dream big but struggle to stay consistent
You know what to do—but don’t do it
You’re tired of forcing yourself
You want meaningful momentum instead of repetitive loops
The key to aligned action
Aligned action begins with a small, complete act. When you give your full presence to one action: energy, clarity, and satisfaction arise naturally—and meaningful results follow as a consequence.
Most people try to change their lives through bigger goals, stronger motivation, or more discipline. But transformation often begins with something much simpler: one small, full action. It has a transformative potential, because it becomes a way you meet each moment — alignment.
The mantra is: "I don't care about results for now. I only care about making this step clean."
All stress disappears when you care more about doing this action—the action in front of you—cleanly (rather than results)
Clean action creates clean result. It is also an entrance to the presence.

Where people usually fail
That small discomfort right before you start—
that’s where most people stop themselves.
They react to that feeling instantly and disengage —avoiding, delaying, or distracting.
One time, two times, the consequences don’t appear big. But they’re cumulative. When a person knows what matters—but repeatedly moves away from it. This creates self-distrust, mental conflict, emotional weight, fragmented energy, and crisis overtime.
Try this for 30 seconds instead…
Think of something you’ve been avoiding—notice what you feel in your body. Just let it be there—without trying to change it. You may feel the urge to do something else.
Catch that golden moment (the urge to escape)! Gently settle the body down—enjoy some deep breaths.
Now open the task and just look at it for 30 seconds. Just relax looking—no need to force or motivate yourself to do anything.
After 30 seconds, you can stand up and do something else if you still want to.
But if you see something small you like to do, then move forward—do it.
Moments of Mastery
Look at what you just did…
If you just stay—looking at the task for 30 seconds, that’s a moment of mastery: You didn’t instantly follow the mind’s suggestion—you began to master the start.
When you relax into the moment, something changes: There’s a bit more space. The pressure softens. And starting becomes possible, and coming back to it is usually much easier.
You then may notice something unexpected:
Through small, clear actions, awareness opens. There’s often something genuinely enjoyable, meaningful, or energizing within the act itself. You’re no longer trying to “get through it”, because the act itself starts giving energy back.
The consequences are also cumulative:
When this repeats many times, you gradually develop a new default response to discomfort when starting.
Before: resistance → avoidance
Now: resistance → relax, open awareness → small action
That’s a different behavioral pathway, which leads to a different destiny (trajectory).
Contracted life vs Aligned life
But What If the Resistance Feels Too Strong?
Sometimes it feels too heavy to even stay with it.
You try to work—and your body doesn’t move.
You try to let go—but things get stuck in your mind.
In those moments, more effort doesn’t help. You need a different approach. There’s a simple way to shift your state — so you’re no longer stuck, and can begin again. (We’ll experience this together live.)
The Aligned Action in Small, Complete Acts
(Click the image to watch a practice in everyday life: How a simple. clear act can restore clarity and stability.)
One small, complete act is key to aligned action. It’s not a get-it-done act. You use an act to dig deeply into this moment—where satisfaction, energy, and clarity are waiting for you.
They bring your attention into the present moment: awareness opens—and with it, the energy that supports action. In other words, you become one with the action.
This is how momentum begins.
You’ll discover how action can emerge from relaxation, openness, and non-escaping. This is sustainable action — the action that contains both resting and moving aspects, just like inhalation and exhalation that complete a breathing cycle. Thus, consistency becomes possible.
The Aligned Action in Motion
(Click the image to watch a short example:)
Together, we’ll also explore this through gentle movement—a simple sequence within stillness. We learn to use small, intentional movements to open alignment, space, and energy.
You’ll experience the power of small, complete acts in continuity. You may find that, as you keep moving, energy begins to build on its own. Consistency becomes possible when action is done in a way that sustains energy instead of draining it.
Then you can apply this way of doing to anything meaningful: your work, your healing, your relationships, or something you deeply want to create.
You can adjust the movement to match your body. This isn’t about doing it “right.”This is also not an exercise or a performance.
Important note:
Start fresh each time — Let go of what you felt before.
At the beginning, it may feel slightly uncomfortable.
It’s actually where awareness activates and energy starts to open.
In this live session, you will:
- Bring a real task you’ve been avoiding, experience the exact moment you usually avoid—and practice to move through it
- Feel how starting (or stopping an unwanted act) becomes easier without forcing
- Learn what to do when resistance feels too strong
- Practice to reset your clarity in under a minute before making a decision
- Re-defining initial struggles: opening a door to great energy, clarity, and fulfillment (you’ll taste a glimpse of this with a simple practice)
- Build real momentum on something you’ve been putting off
We don’t gather here to appear strong.
We gather here to practice not escaping —
and hear how others work through the exact moment of resistance. Practice matters more than perfection.

A personal note
For more than a decade, I practiced Zen and Vipassana meditation in the U.S and Asia, including three years living and training at a Zen center in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
During the pandemic, I went through one of the most difficult periods of my life. My health became deeply challenged; I felt confused about where to begin with the vision I deeply cared about; and important relationships in my life fell apart.
But moving through ups and downs, I began noticing something unexpected: beneath all the movement, there was a field of stillness. Learning to rely on that stillness for energy and direction helped me move through challenges without losing myself.
I also realized: How powerful small, clear, continuous actions could be. (I even called it “The magical process”). And here is the most important part of it: keep coming back to tackle the same issue just a little more; a breakthrough then follows.
That way of doing helped me:
move forward on work that had felt overwhelming
and live with more steadiness and harmony
and had a profound impact on my well-being and the quality of my life.
Gradually, I distilled what worked most reliably into a simple, practical approach—something that could be applied to many aspects in life. Over time, this became what I now call: The Aligned Action. The mechanism for Aligned Action is the balance between Stillness and Action.
That’s the reason why I’m creating a space to practice and explore it together.
Linh Nguyen is the creator of The Aligned Action Practice.
For over 15 years, she has explored Zen and Vipassana meditation, awareness training, and practical approaches for overcoming inner resistance and taking meaningful action.
This workshop shares the methods and insights developed through that practice.
This Is Not Another Productivity Method
This is not about: more discipline or pushing yourself harder
This is about: Working with what actually happens in the moment you don’t act (or don’t pause)—And experiencing what changes it.
Self-mastery is built in tiny moments—when you don’t escape or react.
Aligned Action practice develops a different relationship with resistance, attention, and action. This creates the foundation for sustainable, meaningful work.
